On reading Lauren Kali's thoughts on kindness, I thought I'd share one of my favorites. My daughter and I were in New York city, had been walking all day, cold and rainy. We decided to take a cab to dinner. "Carmine's" we directed the cab driver. We got to chatting and before we knew it, we were almost in Greenwich Village. Who knew there were two Carmines? When we explained to the cab driver we meant the Carmine's near Times Square, he seemed perplexed. He turned the cab around and drove us all the way back. Here's where the act of kindness comes in. He stopped the meter down in the village. I tried to over tip him a bit, but he would have none of that. So there you have it, a random act of kindness from a New York City cab driver of all people. ![]()

Just curious. If anyone still has a Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers album cover, is it a YKK Zipper?
Our parents must have loved this one! And if by chance you do have it and are wondering what it's worth, they're selling on Ebay from about $10 to about $30, that's the cover with the working zipper.

Aside from my children's milestones, and most color guard shows, here are some songs that are sure fire tear jerkers for me...
Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word, Elton John
Fix You, Coldplay
The Scientist, Coldplay
Ben, Michael Jackson
Living For The City, Stevie Wonder
Isn't She Lovely, Stevie Wonder
Raining You, Brad Paisley
Adrift, Jack Johnson

The Wilhelm scream. Sound familiar? It should. It has become a well-known cinematic sound cliché, and is claimed to have been used in over 140 films.

We have a puppy, he hasn't been subjected to an full fledged storm yet, or Sam the Neighbor's fireworks display. He's part poodle, so I'll keep the rug cleaner handy.
